Added Sept. 17th, 2009 - Mark was actively bidding on eBay to get his hands on this special collectible! That's right - an original script for Smokey and the Bandit signed by the complete cast. Interestingly, the script is an earlier version where some cast members names are different! The famous Red Cadillac in the movie is described as being white in the script (very Boss Hogg don't you think?) .This had been in a collection and stored for years- a very unique piece of history!

Mark is a big collector of things to go with his Television and Movie cars. So far he has been able to get his hands on all the original documents originally available with the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am - including dealer brochures and documentation from the Pontiac Historical Society.

Although there was not a considerable amount of merchandising done in connection with the movie "Smokey and the Bandit" there was some. Mark has been fortunate in locating a complete set of Smokey and the Bandit lobby cars dispursed to movie theaters in 1977 - and some of the toy cars and models licensed after the movies release (photo above).

(above) Some more of the collectibles Mark has been able to acquire include a full set of lobby cards from 1977 plus 1:18, 1:24 and 1:64 scale toys. Smokey and the Bandit toys were very popular in the late 70s and early 80s - however action figures and playsets were never developed as they were for "Dukes of Hazzard".
